Friday Post Sept 14: Photoshop


1# 6 shortcuts in Photoshop and what they do.


  1. Ctrl+ / : Locks/Unlocks the current layer you have selected (note: locking a layer prevents you from editing it.)
  2. Shift+Ctrl+E : Merge Visible Layers: Merges all visible layers.
  3. Ctrl+Shift+I : Invert Selection: Inverts pixel selection.
  4. Alt+Shift+Ctrl+K : Shortcut Menu: Brings up the shortcut menu.
  5. Shift+Ctrl+' : Quick Export as PNG: Exports current image as a PNG.
  6. Alt+Shift+Ctrl+' : Export as: Brings up a menu that allows you to select what file type you want to export your image as.

2# Octopus Background removal.

Tools Used:
  1. Magic Wand: Shortcut> W
  2.  Rectangular Marquee Tool: Shortcut> M
  3. Eraser: Shortcut>E
I used the marquee tool to remove large parts of the background and the Magic wand tool to remove background patches closer to the Octopus while I cleaned it up with the Eraser
